Muscle-relaxing Injections

As we grow older, we begin to notice deeper, most noticeable lines in our face – even when we are not making a particular facial expression.

This is a key sign of ageing and one of the most common areas which patients seek to be treated.

Here at S-Thetics Clinic, we use botulinum injections (BOTOX) to effectively treat fine-to-medium lines and wrinkles by relaxing these underlying muscles, giving the appearance of softer lines.

The detail

The treatment temporarily relaxes the muscles between the affected areas, such as frown lines, resulting in a softer, less tired or angry expression.

The injections can be used to treat areas such as frown lines, crow’s feet, the jawline or an overactive jaw muscle but our surgeon and founder Miss Sherina Balaratnam may also use her clinical expertise to treat other facial areas in line with your individual needs, to give you the best results.

Using her ‘less is more approach’ to facial enhancement, the desired result is a healthy, refreshed glow – not to dramatically change the way you look.

Miss Balaratnam holds the prestigious title of ‘Local Country Ambassador’ (LCA) for Allergan, the manufacturers of BOTOX and the Juvederm range of dermal fillers.

As one of only a handful of expert UK practitioners selected as an LCA, she regularly trains and mentors other health care professionals in non-surgical cosmetic rejuvenation treatments and injection techniques.

Ideal treatment for

Excessive Sweating

Excessive sweating, medically known as hyperhidrosis, can affect the whole body, but is usually concentrated in certain areas, such as the: armpits, palms of hands, soles of feet, or the face. While excessive sweating is rarely harmful, it is known to cause embarrassment, self-consciousness, and in some cases even depression and anxiety for the sufferer.

Facial Volume Loss

Many of our patients at S-Thetics are looking for solutions to restore facial volume. As we age, our skin produces less collagen, which leads to a loss in elasticity.

Sagging Skin / Skin Laxity

Sagging skin is one of the clearest and most common signs of ageing, which occurs when the skin produces less collagen as we get older. Gravity takes its toll, and inevitably the supportive tissues in our face and body begin to droop.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Frown lines are the lines that appear between the eyebrows, either when frowning, or as we age and elasticity is gone from the area, on a permanent basis. Ageing skin is most identifiable by the presence of wrinkles. As collagen production decreases over time, the skin becomes less able to repair itself from the movement of everyday life. There are, fortunately, a variety of different treatments that can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles and return a youthful complexion to the skin.

Are there any side effects?

The S-Thetics Clinic team will use this treatment to soften dynamic lines on your face, giving a much more relaxed, refreshed appearance whilst keeping a natural look and movement.

The injections are made with an ultra-fine needle and the procedure usually takes about half an hour. Depending on the area treated, results usually last between three and four months as the movement in the muscle comes back over time.

We advise all new patients to return for a dose review three weeks after their initial treatment to ensure the best results.
